Welcome to my blog! I'm excited to share my stories with you about growing up as a Korean adoptee. I'm hoping you find the humor (as I have) in certain situations, the ironies, some hope and inspiration, as well as, greater understanding and acceptance of one another...no matter if you are adopted or not...through this journey.
As adoptees, we all have our own individual journeys to experience...our own timing of when and how we understand certain questions we've had or to being open to accept and understand certain facts about our adoption or our past. Every adoption is different and every adoptee is different. We all have our own paths to take, but we all share one common bond...we were adopted...whether domestically or internationally.
For non-adoptees, this blog will give you a glimpse of what daily life is like for an adoptee and the issues and questions that we may or may not face. And, if you've ever considered adopting maybe this blog will help clear up some questions or reservations you may have had.
This blog will be quirky at times with a little sarcasm thrown in, other times it will look for and remind us of the lessons life has to teach us, but mostly it will reveal the ironies of daily life that an adoptee faces. I'm also a very faithful person, so although I won't be preaching anything (not intentionally), I will be sharing how my faith influences me in my life and how my optimism for life is shaped by my belief in a higher Power.
