Yes, it's a holiday weekend (in the States). Yes, it's a three-day weekend. Yes, it's time to grill out, go swimming, and enjoy time with family and friends. But, why are we doing all of this? Why do we have this holiday? To remember...to remember those that have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we can do all those things.
We must remember, honor and give back to those that have given their lives so that we can continue to live ours the way that we want to. There is a price for freedom and there are too many that have paid that price. So, please take time this special holiday weekend to give thanks, to serve others and to remember those that have died for our freedom. May God bless their memories and their families.
And may you bless someone special, a stranger or a friend this week with an act of kindness, a thoughtful gesture or an uplifting word. Cheers to all the heroes that have served our country!
